Knowing how to navigate Newborn Photography
Heres a look at one of my most recent newborn sessions, where I worked with one of the smallest babies I have photographed, weighing only 4 lbs 5oz. Yep, you heard that right! This sweet baby girl insisted on being wrapped snugly throughout her entire session, giving us a glimpse into her cozy world.
Photographing newborns is truly one of the most magical things you can do. Every baby is different, some are tiny, some are chunky, and they each have their own unique personality right from the start. This tiny princess, well she sure knew how to steal the show with her adorable antics.
During her session she made sure to let me know she was the boss, seriously though she was the cutest boss I have ever had 😉. She called all the shots with her preference for being wrapped up in a cocoon of comfort. And you know what? That’s perfectly okay! In fact, it is more than okay, it normal. As a newborn photographer, I have learned to embrace every moment, understanding that each baby expresses themselves differently.
Safety is incredibly important in newborn photography, and I take it very seriously. I believe in creating a comfortable environment where the baby’s well-being always comes first. I will never push boundaries or force poses that baby resists. If something doesn’t feel right, I listen to the cues and adjust accordingly. The most important thing to me is that the baby and parents feel at ease throughout the entire session.
