Grants Pass Newborn Photographer |
Chelsea May’Lee Photography
The first few weeks of your newborn’s life goes by so quickly. Their tiny fingers that wrap around yours, the newborn scrunch, sweet stretches, and the way they’re so curly. It all changes so quickly!
As a newborn photographer, giving you beautiful photos of all the tiny details is my #1 goal. I want you to have something you can pass down for generations.
I specialize in newborn photography, serving families all throughout Southern Oregon. My cozy studio is located in the heart of downtown Grants Pass. My style is simple, timeless, and focused on your newborn and the connection your family shares.
Your Baby is the Boss
I take my time with every session, because your baby is in charge.
Every baby is different. Some sleep through the entire session. Some cluster feed. Some don’t want to be put down. And that’s all totally fine!
There is always time for feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and breaks to snuggle. Your baby’s first photos are precious and I would never rush them.
My goal is to create a beautiful gallery for you to enjoy. Sometimes babies don’t like certain poses and if that happens then we move on. There is never a reason to force it.
Everything Is Ready for You
You don’t need to show up with a suitcase full of things for your baby.
I provide wraps, outfits, hats, headbands, props, layers, and everything to create beautiful images. I carefully choose everything with your vision in mind, your baby’s size, and what I think will photograph beautifully.
I love incorporating sentimental items, so if you have an idea, feel free to share it with me.
Family and Sibling Photos Are Included
Your newborn session isn’t just about the baby.
Capturing your family during a time you will never get back is very important to me.
Parents, sibling, and family photos are included in every newborn session. I will take time for the connections to show through. I want you to look at each photo and remember the feelings and love that filled your heart during this sweet time.Â
Safety Comes First
Your baby’s safety will always come before getting a certain pose.
I’ve completed specialized newborn safety courses and workshops to ensure the safety of every newborn that comes into my studio. Learning from experienced newborn photographers has taught me to have a calm, patient approach with every baby. I will never force a baby into an unsafe pose or a pose they are resisting.Â
My studio is kept warm for the baby and we take as many breaks as needed.
What Happens During Your Newborn Session?
When you arrive at my Grants Pass studio, we’ll start by getting baby sleepy and fed if needed. I gently work with your baby as we move through a variety of poses, wraps, outfits, and setups.
A typical session includes posed images on a fabric drop, wrapped portraits in prop setups, baby details, sibling photos, and family photos.
The exact flow of the session varies by baby. Some sessions move quickly and some take a little more patience and understanding. It’s all normal.
You don’t have to know how to pose your baby or even yourself. I do it all for you. That’s my job.
Your job is to relax, enjoy your baby, and soak it all in. You can even nap if you want. 😉

When Should You Book Your Newborn Photos?
I recommend booking your newborn photos during your second trimester of pregnancy. Booking while you are still pregnant, ensures a spot around your due date.
Newborn sessions are typically planned for the first couple weeks after the baby is born. We want them to be in the sleepy newborn stage. Once your baby is born we will finalize the exact session date.
We’ll work together to find the best date for your family.
A Newborn Session Tailored To You
I want your newborn session to feel comfortable, relaxed, and exactly what you envisioned.
Spend the morning connecting with your baby instead of stressing about all the small details.
Come to the studio, settle in, and I will take care of the rest.
These days are short. The moments I capture for you are something you can look back on years from now and have all these feelings rush back, even after your tiny newborn is grown.
