Welcome and Congrats!

If you are reading this then you are probably expecting a sweet little newborn. Whether this is your first or your fifth baby, being pregnant marks a new adventure that’s about to start. This time can be so exciting and full of so many decisions. Choosing names, figuring out what to put in your hospital bag, choosing the right car seat, or which crib will be the best. You may also be wondering if you should document this beautiful experience. The answer to this question is easy, YES, of course you should. Maternity photos are by far the best way to do this.

A maternity photoshoot allows you to remember just how magical and beautiful pregnancy is. Pregnancy should be documented by showing off your changing body and the beautiful new life it’s creating. The photos you receive can be kept forever and will truly be cherished by you and your little ones for years to come. The most common question I get is when it is a good time to capture the beauty of your pregnancy.

When Is The Best Time To Take Maternity Photos?

This really depends on your preferences. If I had to give a time frame, I would say between 30-36 weeks of pregnancy. Some mommas will see a baby bump sooner than others. If this is your first baby, I typically recommend getting closer to the 36-week mark. Between 30-36 weeks of pregnancy your baby bump is going to have a beautiful round shape which makes it the ideal time for maternity photos.

This timeframe is what I call the sweet spot, because no matter what there will be a baby bump. Everyone is different though; some may have a smaller baby bump which is typical if this is your first baby and sometimes it’s just in your genes. If you have been pregnant before you may develop a larger baby bump much sooner.

Most mommas will start to feel uncomfortable if we wait to do the maternity photoshoot past 36 weeks. Once that last 4 weeks hit, your baby grows very fast and will start pushing on your lungs and even your bladder. I want your session to go as smoothly as possible. If you are uncomfortable that won’t be the case.

How Far In Advance Should I book My Maternity Session?

Booking your maternity session in your first trimester ensures I will have a date available. It also gives us plenty of time to plan your session. We can talk about your vision, plan outfits, and schedule a date that works for your schedule. Don’t worry, if you are reading this and you are already past your first trimester you can still book, we just may have less flexibility on the date.

Conclusion

Make sure to get your maternity session in my books sooner rather than later to ensure that we get you in during the sweet spot. While your baby bump is prominent and you feel comfortable. A maternity photoshoot should capture the beauty of pregnancy and this incredible journey you are experiencing.

If you are pregnant and excited to have something beautiful to hold in your hands that you can show your sweet babes later in life, then make sure to message me. I would love to get you in the books and create something beautiful!

Why should I book a maternity session?

I love answering this question. Maternity photos really show off a new mommas glow. You may not feel that glow or see it just by looking in the mirror, but I promise everyone else does! I love showing every woman how absolutely stunning they are while pregnant. The best way I can do this is by showing you from an outsiders perspective.
